Instructions
Sugar Syrup
In a pot, prepare the sugar syrup by adding sugar, water, lemon slice and stir from the middle of the pot.
Before it starts boiling stop stirring, lower the heat and leave it boil for 10 minutes.
Turn of the heat and let it chill to reach room temperature.
Flour Cream
In a pan, add milk, flour, sugar, vanilla and stir till it gets thicker then turn off the heat.
Add butter and melt it in the mixture by stirring.
Optional step, add cream chante.
Knafeh
In a bowl, crush the frozen knafeh and mix it with icing sugar (optional).
Add melted ghee at room temperature and mix it well with the knafeh.
Grease an oven tray ghee and sprinkle pistachio on it.
Add the half the quantity of the knafeh and press it to the bottom using a plate.
Add the flour cream to the middle of the tray.
Add the rest of the knafeh and press it using a plate or glass.
Spread melted ghee on it.
Bake it in a preheated oven on 200 degrees Celsius till it gets the gold color from the bottom.
Flip the knafeh and bake it till it takes the golden color from the the other side.
Pour the sugar syrup on it and let it rest for 10 minutes.
