Instructions
-
In a large saucepan, heat the regular milk over low heat, making sure it doesn't boil.
-
Once the milk is warm (not hot), add the vinegar and stir gently. You will start to see curds forming.
-
Continue stirring gently until the curds separate completely from the whey. This may take a few minutes.
-
Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the curds using a cheesecloth or a fine-mesh sieve. Allow the whey to drain completely.
-
Transfer the strained curds to a clean bowl. Add a pinch of salt and gently knead the curds until they become smooth and stretchy, resembling mozzarella cheese.
-
Once the curds are smooth, place them back in the saucepan and add hot water. Gently knead the curds in the hot water for a few minutes.
-
Remove the curds from the hot water and shape them into a ball or any desired shape.
-
Wrap the cheese in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour to firm up.
-
Your homemade mozzarella cheese is ready to be enjoyed!
