Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the regular milk over low heat, making sure it doesn't boil.
  2. Once the milk is warm (not hot), add the vinegar and stir gently. You will start to see curds forming.
  3. Continue stirring gently until the curds separate completely from the whey. This may take a few minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the curds using a cheesecloth or a fine-mesh sieve. Allow the whey to drain completely.
  5. Transfer the strained curds to a clean bowl. Add a pinch of salt and gently knead the curds until they become smooth and stretchy, resembling mozzarella cheese.
  6. Once the curds are smooth, place them back in the saucepan and add hot water. Gently knead the curds in the hot water for a few minutes.
  7. Remove the curds from the hot water and shape them into a ball or any desired shape.
  8. Wrap the cheese in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour to firm up.
  9. Your homemade mozzarella cheese is ready to be enjoyed!
