Beef Tagin with Onions

In a hot pan, melt the ghee or butter. Add the beef cubes and sear them until browned on all sides.

Sprinkle seven spices, black pepper over the meat and stir well.

Pour in enough water to cover the meat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 45 minutes or until the meat is tender.

Once the water has reduced, add the sliced onions, additional seven spices, black pepper, and salt. Stir well and let the onions cook until soft.

Toss in the bay leaves and cinnamon stick, then add more water if necessary. Allow the mixture to simmer gently, until the meat is fully cooked and the sauce thickens.

Transfer everything to a baking dish (tagin dish or any oven-safe dish), cover with aluminum foil, and bake at 180°C for about 30 minutes to further tenderize the meat.
