Description
Cumin beef with onions is a famous Egyptian dish characterized by the rich flavor of cumin and caramelized onions. The beef is well browned and then slowly cooked with onions and cumin until tender.

Heat the oil and fry the beef until browned and nicely colored, then set aside.
In the same pot, add butter and the chopped onion, and stir until softened.
Add cumin, sugar, black pepper, and a pinch of coriander. Stir the ingredients.
Return the beef to the pot and stir it with the onion and spices.
Do not add a large amount of water; add water in batches while allowing the beef to cook. Leave it for two hours on low heat.
Before it is fully cooked, add a little onion and adjust salt. Leave it for another half hour.
Chef Note
Do not add too much water while cooking; add it gradually. Serve with vermicelli rice for the best taste.
