In a pot over heat, add ghee and grated onions. Saute the onions until wilt and change color.

Add diced liver and stir, add pepper, seven spices, ground coriander, sumac, cinnamon powder, cardamom, bay leaves, mastic, and cinnamon stick. Add rice and stir until combined.

Cover with broth (duck or chicken). Stir and cover, when starts to boil and the broth shortens, turn down the heat. If you want the rice to be brown, caramelize sugar and put it in the broth before adding it to the rice.

When fully cooked, transfer to a serving dish, and sprinkle roasted nuts on top.
