Description

  1. In a pot, place the rinsed and drained lentils, chopped onion, chopped carrot, and garlic cloves.
  2. Cover the lentils and vegetables with water. Place the lid on the pot, leaving a small gap to prevent it from boiling over.
  3. Simmer the mixture over medium heat for about 15 minutes, or until the lentils are soft and plump.
  4. Turn off the heat and add a little boiling water to make blending easier.
  5. Blend the mixture with a hand blender or in a regular blender until completely smooth.
  6. Season the soup with salt and cumin. A bouillon cube can also be added for a richer flavor.
  7. Return the soup to the heat and let it simmer until it reaches the desired consistency.
  8. Serve the soup hot with your favorite kind of bread.
