Instructions

In a pot, add sugar, water, lemon slice and stir from the middle of the pot to make the sugar syrup.

Before it starts to boil, lower the heat, stop stirring and leave it to boil for only 10 minutes.

Let the sugar syrup chill to reach room temperature.

In a bowl, mix the minced frozen knafeh, ghee/butter and oil.

In a separate bowl, mix butter, molases and grease a pan with this mixture.

Add half of the Knafeh quantity to the pan and press it to the bottom of the pan using a plate.

Add majdouli and akkawi cheese or mozzarella cheese (or used your preferred stuffing).

Add the rest of the knafeh on top.

Cook the Knafeh on low heat while making circular motion on the stove (watch video for technique).

When it starts to turn gold from the edges flip it and repeat the technique.

Put the knafeh in the serving plate and pour the sugar syrup on it.

Decorate using crushed pistachio and serve it hot.
Stuffing

Cut the cheese into small cubes and soak it in water overnight, changing the water 4 times.

Chop well and sweeten with 3 tablespoons powdered sugar.
