Instructions

Original Stovetop Method

  1. In a saucepan, add milk and sugar.
  2. Heat the mixture over low to medium heat. Stir constantly at first to make sure the sugar completely dissolves.
  3. Allow the milk to simmer gently. Stir every five minutes to prevent a film from forming on top or the bottom from burning.
  4. Continue to cook for at least 45 minutes. You will notice the milk level gradually decreasing as the liquid evaporates.
  5. Keep a close eye on it to ensure it doesn't scorch on the bottom.
  6. Turn off the heat once the mixture has a light beige color and a thick, syrupy consistency. It will thicken even more as it cools.
  7. While the mixture is still hot, pour it through a fine-mesh sieve to catch any small clumps or particles.
  8. Store the finished condensed milk in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.

Quick Blender Method

  1. In a blender, add powdered milk, sugar, boiling hot water, and butter.
  2. Blend on high speed for 30-60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a jar. This version can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator.
