Instructions
- In a bowl, add warm water & milk, sugar & yeast - mix well together.
- Add yoghurt, egg white, oil and mix well.
- Add flour gradually and stir then add salt.
- Knead for about 10 minutes until dough is formed.
- Add softened butter and make sure it blends well with the dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 40 minutes.
- Prepare the beef by mixing all ingredients together and blend well.
- Shape the beef into burger patties (Watch video for technique).
- Put the patties in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Back to the bread - Slightly spread the dough then cut into smaller pieces. Shape the dough pieces into balls.
- Cover the dough balls and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Reshape the dough into balls.
- Line oven tray with parchment paper and oil. Add the dough balls. Cover and let it rest for another 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix egg yolk with melted butter.
- Brush the bread with the egg mixture. Add roasted sesame on top (optional).
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius until it turns gold from the bottom. Then, turn on the broiler until it turns golden from the top.
- Mushroom Onion Sauce: In a pan, add butter then sugar and stir until it dissolves and caramelizes.
- Add onion slices and stir until golden. Then add the mushroom and stir.
- Add soy sauce, salt & pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
- In a pan, add oil then cook the burger patties on both sides.
- While cooking, add the cheddar cheese slice on top of the burger until it melts.
- Prepare the sandwich with ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, mushroom onion sauce and the patties. Enjoy!
