Preparing the Dough

  1. In a bowl, add the flour, salt, yeast, sugar & baking powder.
  2. Add the melted ghee and oil.
  3. Add the warm milk gradually while kneading. The dough should be a bit sticky.
  4. Cover the bowl and leave the dough till it Rises.

The Filling

  1. Remove the seeds from inside the dates.
  2. In a pan, add the pitted dates, some water and ghee. Mash the Dates till it forms a spread.

Preparing the Pies

  1. After the dough rises, divide it into small balls & cover them for 2 minutes.
  2. Prepare the baking sheet and line it with some ghee.
  3. Take each dough ball, flatten it and fill it with the dates spread. Close and pat it. Use a knife to make 2 mark lines on top of each pie.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.
  5. Take it out of the oven and sprinkle some water on top. Cover it with a towel for 5 minutes.
