Homemade Burger & Burger Buns

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add warm water & milk, sugar & yeast - mix well together.
  2. Add yoghurt, egg white, oil and mix well.
  3. Add flour gradually and stir then add salt.
  4. Knead for about 10 minutes until dough is formed.
  5. Add softened butter and make sure it blends well with the dough.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rest for 40 minutes.
  7. Prepare the beef by mixing all ingredients together and blend well.
  8. Shape the beef into burger patties (Watch video for technique).
  9. Put the patties in the fridge for 1 hour.
  10. Back to the bread - Slightly spread the dough then cut into smaller pieces. Shape the dough pieces into balls.
  11. Cover the dough balls and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  12. Reshape the dough into balls.
  13. Line oven tray with parchment paper and oil. Add the dough balls. Cover and let it rest for another 15 minutes.
  14. In a bowl, mix egg yolk with melted butter.
  15. Brush the bread with the egg mixture. Add roasted sesame on top (optional).
  16. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius until it turns gold from the bottom. Then, turn on the broiler until it turns golden from the top.
  17. Mushroom Onion Sauce: In a pan, add butter then sugar and stir until it dissolves and caramelizes.
  18. Add onion slices and stir until golden. Then add the mushroom and stir.
  19. Add soy sauce, salt & pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
  20. In a pan, add oil then cook the burger patties on both sides.
  21. While cooking, add the cheddar cheese slice on top of the burger until it melts.
  22. Prepare the sandwich with ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, mushroom onion sauce and the patties. Enjoy!
