Description

Chicken Fattah with Yogurt is a complete meal that combines boiled chicken with creamy yogurt and a touch of tahini. It is served on toasted pita bread and white rice, and garnished with toasted almonds and parsley.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Boil the chicken breasts in salted water with onion and cinnamon sticks. Bone-in chicken can be used for a better broth.
  2. Cut the boiled chicken into very small pieces or shred.
  3. Season the chicken with a little salt and cinnamon and mix well.
  4. To prepare the yogurt sauce: mix yogurt with Greek yogurt, tahini, crushed garlic cloves, chicken broth, lemon, and salt. Stir until smooth, and taste to adjust seasoning. You can thin it with a little water if desired.
  5. Toast the pita bread in the oven, fry it, or use an air fryer until crispy.
  6. To serve: place the toasted pita on a plate, then add a layer of cooked white rice (such as Egyptian rice), then the shredded chicken, then the yogurt sauce. Sprinkle sumac, toasted almonds, and chopped parsley. Serve immediately to maintain the crispiness of the bread.
