Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven for 15 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and oil.
  3. Add half of the vanilla cake mix to the bowl and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, take the other half of the cake mix and add cocoa powder, milk, and red food coloring. Mix to form the red velvet batter.
  5. Fill cupcake liners with the vanilla batter, then top with the red velvet batter, swirling the two together.
  6. Place the cupcake tray inside another aluminum tray for even heat distribution.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes, checking with a toothpick or skewer to ensure the center is cooked through.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool completely. Once cooled, use a knife to make a small hole in the center of each cupcake.
  9. For the custard: In a bowl, mix the custard powder, sugar, cold milk, and hot milk. Stir well and cook over medium heat until thickened.
  10. For the whipped cream: In a separate bowl, whip the whipped cream mix with cold milk using an electric mixer until thickened.
  11. To make custard cream, combine the whipped cream with the cold custard and mix well.
  12. Spoon the custard cream into the center of each cupcake.
