Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a separate pan, heat butter and oil. Add mustard powder and paprika or chili powder.

Stir in the milk and cream, seasoning with salt and pepper. Allow the mixture to warm.

In a bowl, lightly beat the egg. Gradually add a ladle of the warm milk mixture to temper the egg before incorporating it back into the pan.

Toss the four types of shredded cheese with cornstarch to coat evenly. Gradually add the cheese mixture to the milk sauce in two batches, ensuring each batch melts completely before adding the next.

Once the sauce reaches a smooth and creamy consistency, fold in the cooked pasta.

Optionally, transfer the mixture to baking molds or a casserole dish. Sprinkle additional shredded cheddar and mozzarella on top.

Bake under the broiler for 10 minutes or until the cheese topping is golden and bubbling.
