In a mixer, add butter and sugar and whisk until thick and creamy.

Add eggs, molasses, and orange peel to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger powder, cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.

Add the dry ingredients mixture to the wet ingredients in the mixer and mix until a dough forms.

Transfer the dough to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1 hour.

Remove the chilled dough from the refrigerator.
