Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Pesto

Peel and cube the potatoes, then place them in a pot filled with water and a pinch of salt.
Bring the pot to a boil and cook the potatoes until tender. Test their doneness by piercing them with a fork; they should break apart easily.
Drain the potatoes and immediately add a piece of butter while they are still hot.
Pour in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.
Using a hand blender, whip the potatoes until fluffy and smooth. If you prefer a thicker texture, you can mash them manually.
Stir in the pesto sauce and mix until fully incorporated.
Serve the mashed potatoes hot as a side dish with your favorite protein, such as steak or chicken.
