Description

Beef Vermicelli Fatteh is a flavor explosion inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine. Layers of crispy fried vermicelli provide a delightful textural contrast to the juicy beef and creamy yogurt sauce.

  1. Cut the Shami bread into cubes and deep fry.
  2. In a pan over heat, drizzle some oil and fry/roast nuts.
  3. In the same pan with some oil, fry the vermicelli.
  4. Chop safflowered lemon in a food processor.
  5. In a deep bowl, add Greek yogurt, minced garlic, vinegar, tahini, salt, and chopped safflowered lemon.
  6. In a pot over heat, add some oil and cubed beef. Fry until browned.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, meat spices, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, and cardamom.
  8. Add diced onion and fry together until the beef is golden brown.
  9. Add water and cover. Let cook until tender.
  10. Add fried vermicelli to the beef and cook in beef stock until fully cooked.
  11. In a serving plate, add a layer of fried bread cubes, a layer of vermicelli and beef, drizzle some yogurt sauce, and garnish with nuts and parsley.
