Description

This recipe takes inspiration from both classic Egyptian Goulash and creamy béchamel sauce for a unique and flavorful twist. Layers of crispy phyllo dough enclose a spiced ground meat filling, while a hidden layer of creamy béchamel adds a touch of decadence. It's a surprising and delightful fusion of Egyptian and European flavors, perfect for adventurous palates!

Instructions

  1. In a pan, cook ground beef with minced onions, when fully cooked, add diced bell pepper. Season with salt, pepper, beef spices, and Italian seasoning. Stir and let cook for a while.
  2. Brush- or spray- an oven pan with the oil, take 2-3 sheets of phyllo dough and lay them flat on your dish, then brush with oil. Continue layering the phyllo sheets 2-3 sheets at a time and brushing them until you are done with half the package.

  4. Continue layering and brushing the remaining phyllo sheets until you are done with the package. Cut into squares.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until it starts to change color, pour over the milk, and put it back in the oven after turning on the broiler until it reaches a golden color.
