  1. On a flat plate, place the steaks and season them with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Place a pan over high heat, add butter and oil. When the butter is hot, add seasoned steaks and sear on each side, turning once. Add garlic and thyme. Remove from heat.
  3. In the same pan, add minced onions, saute until golden. Add sliced mushrooms and stir together.
  4. Add flour, soy sauce and cream and stir thoroughly until the flour disappear and the sauce is formed, add salt and pepper. Add steaks back to pan, spooning some of the sauce over steaks. Once steaks are heated through, remove from heat and serve over some mashed potatoes.
