Instructions
-
In a pot, combine the flour with a little milk first to form a paste, then gradually add the rest of the milk while whisking to prevent lumps.
-
Season with salt, black pepper, and an optional dash of nutmeg.
-
Add bouillon cube and cooking cream. Stir well.
-
Cook this mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
-
Boil the pasta for only five minutes. It will continue to cook later in the oven with the sauce.
-
Sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
-
Add the ground beef and brown it well. Season with salt, black pepper, and a light dash of seven spices.
-
Once the beef is browned, add tomato paste and a small amount of water.
-
Stir and simmer until the beef is fully cooked and the sauce has reduced.
-
In a large bowl, combine the par-cooked pasta with a generous amount of béchamel sauce. Stir them together.
-
Spread a layer of the pasta mixture in the bottom of a baking dish.
-
Add a layer of the seasoned ground beef over the pasta.
-
Pour another generous amount of béchamel sauce over the beef layer.
-
Add another layer of the pasta mixture on top of the beef and sauce.
-
Cover the top layer of pasta completely with the remaining béchamel sauce. Ensure the béchamel layer is thick and smooth.
-
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top béchamel layer.
-
Bake the dish in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Afterward, turn on the broiler to brown the top until it achieves a golden color.
