Baklava Stuffed with Knafeh

Sugar Syrup (sharbat)
Instructions

Cut the phyllo sheets into 2 halves. Cover with a towel so it doesn't dry up.

Spread one phyllo sheet at a time. Fill with knafeh then add crushed nuts or pistachios.

Roll the phyllo sheets using a wooden stick (watch video for technique).

Chop the phyllo rolls into small pieces.

Transfer the phyllo rolls to a baking pan.

Brush with ghee.

Bake in the oven at 180 degrees celsius.

Pour cool sugar syrup (sharbat) on the rolls then garnish with crushed pistachios.

Tip: If you have time, when preparing the baking pan and brushing with ghee, place the pan in the fridge for 2 hours before baking in the oven.

Tip: Better to use ghee than butter.
