Heat the butter and oil in a pot over heat.
Add the vegetables: onion, garlic, tomato, carrot, bell pepper, celery. Stir over high heat.
Add the shrimp and stir for 2-3 minutes, then cover the pot and reduce the heat slightly.
When the water releases from the vegetables and shrimp, add a quarter cup of water, salt, and cumin only.
