Instructions
Sugar Syrup
- Prepare the sugar syrup by mixing water and sugar off heat.
- On heat, when the sugar syrup starts to boil, add the lemon juice and glucose honey (optional).
- Let the sugar syrup boil on low heat for 10 minutes.
- Set the sugar syrup aside and let it chill.
The Stuffing
- In a pan, add milk, semolina, sugar, vanilla and mix well.
- On heat, continue stirring till the mixture gets thick.
The Phyllo Sheets
- Cut the phyllo sheets into symmetrical squares.
- Brush each square with a mixture of oil and ghee.
- Align 6 brushed squares above each other.
- Stuff it with the prepared semolina cream and nuts (optional).
- Fold the phyllo sheets to for a triangular shape.
- Repeat the process to finish all the quantity.
- Grease the oven tray with ghee and add the folded phyllo sheets.
- Brush the top of the phyllo sheets with the mixture of oil and ghee.
- Bake it in a preheated oven on 200 degrees Celsius till it takes a golden color from the bottom.
- Then turn on the grill so it could take the golden color from above.
- Add the chilled sugar syrup on the baked phyllo sheets.
- Leave it for 15 minutes so that the phyllo sheets absorb all the sugar syrup and get rid of the excess.
- Optional step, decorate it with crushed pistachio.
