Orzo with Chicken Wings and Vegetables

In a deep skillet, heat olive oil.

Add the orzo and toast it over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it turns a golden color. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, heat the remaining olive oil. Add the chicken wings and sear until golden brown on both sides.

Add the onions, diced bell peppers, carrots, and peas. Stir well and cook over low heat until the vegetables soften slightly.

Sprinkle turmeric, paprika, black pepper, seven spice blend, saffron (if available), and salt over the chicken and vegetables. Stir to coat evenly.

Add the toasted orzo to the skillet, distributing it evenly.

Gradually pour the boiling water or chicken stock over the orzo and chicken mixture. Stir lightly to combine.

Cover the skillet and cook on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo absorbs the liquid and becomes tender.
