Moussaka with Béchamel

Prepare the Eggplant: Soak the eggplant slices in salted water for 10 minutes to prevent oil absorption. Dry them and fry until golden brown. Set aside.

In the same oil, fry sliced potatoes

Fry chopped bell pepper

In a pan, add oil, garlic, vinegar & dried coriander.

Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet, sauté the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Add the prepared garlic mixture and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Prepare the Béchamel: Mix the instant béchamel with milk according to package instructions. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Optionally, stir in a small amount of grated cheese for extra creaminess.

Spread a thin layer of béchamel at the bottom of a baking dish.

Add a layer of eggplant, then a mix of potatoes, bell peppers, and ground beef.

Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of béchamel on top.

Add Cheese (Optional): Sprinkle grated cheese over the top layer of béchamel.

Bake: Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake the moussaka for 20 minutes.

Broil: Switch to the broiler for the last 10 minutes to create a golden crust.
