Cut the white onion into rings, using the outer layers. (Watch video for technique)
Heat water in a pan, and add the onion rings for one minute.
Once boiled, transfer the onion rings to cold water to cool down.
Peel off the transparent layer inside each onion ring.
Dip the onion rings into the frying batter.
Coat them with seasoned Japanese breadcrumbs.
Freeze the coated onion rings for one hour before frying.
Heat oil to 170°C, and fry the onion rings for 3 minutes.
Remove them from the oil and let them drain.
Serve and enjoy your crispy fried onion rings.
