  1. Prepare a square pan by brushing it with oil and lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the soft butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.
  3. Mix them well until they are thoroughly combined.
  4. Add an egg and vanilla to the mixture, and mix again until everything is well mixed.
  5. Mix flour with baking powder, and salt then gradually add to the bowl.
  6. Mix well after each addition, ensuring all the dry ingredients are incorporated into the mixture.
  7. Once the dry ingredients are mixed in, add chocolate chips to the dough.
  8. Stir until the chocolate chips are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  9. Transfer the dough to the prepared square pan, spreading it out evenly.
  10. Place the pan in oven on 180°C and bake for approximately 12 minutes.
  11. Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool.
  12. Once cooled, lift the parchment paper to easily remove the baked cookie from the pan.
  13. Cut the cookie into small squares or desired shapes.
