  1. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese with finely chopped parsley and finely chopped dill.
  2. Add lemon zest and lemon juice. Season with a pinch of salt and a pinch of black pepper. Mix everything well until fully combined and creamy.
  3. Spread butter on one side of your chosen bread. Toast the bread in a pan until it develops a nice, crispy crust. Once toasted, remove it from the pan and set aside.
  4. Slice avocado into thin slices. If you don't have avocado, slice cucumber thinly as an alternative.
  5. Slice red onion into very thin rings.
  6. Spread a generous layer of the prepared cream cheese spread on the toasted bread.
  7. Arrange a layer of sliced avocado or cucumber on top of the cream cheese.
  8. Place a layer of smoked salmon over the avocado/cucumber. Scatter the thinly sliced red onion rings on top.
  9. Add a few capers. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh dill.
